  • November 2008 - Project Work Continues
    REMINDER:
    Although the parking lot has been resurfaced with one layer of asphalt, it will not be open for parking until the end of the project.  In the spring, another layer of asphalt will be applied.

    11/30
    • Move trailers, materials and equipment to west parking lot
    • Demolition of asphalt on east lot
    • Underground plumbing and ductwork for new addition
    • Mason work begins, starting with elevator shaft
    • Pour mechanical room floor

    11/23
    • Asphalt on Washington parking lot
    • Masons mobilized and will start on elevator shaft
    • Underground plumbing beginning from new mechanical room going east
    • Underground ductwork will follow the plumbing

    11/16
    • Complete exterior wall pouring
    • Form/pour slab on grade for underground ductwork
    • Stone and asphalt on 1/2 of new parking lot
    • Backfill of new addition

    11/9
    • Complete demolition of exterior basement walls
    • Demolition/Tear out for new entrances
    • Begin backfill of new addition and 1/2 of new parking lot
    • Begin underground ductwork at new addition
    • Begin underground electrical conduit at new addition
    • Form/pour exterior walls of new addition
    • Form/pour slab on grade for underground ductwork
    • Demolition at existing elevator shaft (lower level)

  • October 2008

    10/19
    Inside:
    • Saw-cut floor in lower-level east men's bathrooms and electrical room.
    • Lower level re-plumbing.
    • Demolition of old duct work and laying out new duct work.

    Outside:
    • Demolition of outside walls for doorways and hallway in lower level
    • Foundation poured for walls of gathering space area.
    • Footings placed in former west atrium area.
    • Utility poles to be removed.

    10/12 
    Inside
    • Plumbers rerouting and installing new pipe.
    • Continued demolition in east lower level.
    • Verizon to switch over service lines.
    • Insulation of the Nave completed.

    Outside
    • Switch-over of transformer.
    • Third well will be drilled in the southeast corner of the lot.
    • Demolition of asphalt and concrete will continue.
    • Forming the elevator pit walls.

    10/5 
    • Excavation for new elevator.
    • Footings to be placed in former east atrium area.
    • Shutting down and dismantling the chiller.
    • Starting sanitary connection to Fairfield Avenue.
    • New piping in lower-level continues.

  • September 2008 — Demolition Work Continues...

    9/28
    • Installation of the sanitary and storm drains continues.
    • Demolition of the east atrium and foundation completed.
    • Verizon continues underground work.
    • Waiting on delivery of new transformer.
    • Excavating for new elevator begins.
    • STS Security onsite during worship services and evening events.

    9/21
    • Drilling of the #2 well has begun
    • The old heating piping is being removed from the east wing

    9/1-9/14
    Atrium:
    • Preparation for demolition starts Sept. 12.
    • Two exits (kitchen and the door next to the old receptionist office) boarded up, with no exit access.
    • All remaining doors are within fire route regulations per the Fire Marshal inspection of fire routes.

    West Wing:

    • West Wing lower level restrooms remain accessible.

    Lower Level:

    • Access to the lower level is from West Wing stairs only. The plastic sheeting has been hung o minimize dust.
    • Demolition has taken place in the Youth Center, YCC, TCC, Brides Room, Men’s restroom.
    • Pastor Frazier's office will move temporarily to the office next to Pastor Fugate.

    Exterior:

    Exterior signage, pending updated construction images and city approval, will go up on the surrounding fence to help both Trinity members and the community know more about the project.

  • SeptemberFest 2008
    Vic Martin updated Trinity members and friends on the "Seeds of Faith" building project at SeptemberFest. He shared new progress drawings, as well as tentative construction timeline updates.
  • August 2008 — Construction begins!
    The fence is up and utility and preliminary prep work have begun! The area behind Trinity, the alley, and the parking lot at Washington and Ewing will remain inaccessible due to the construction for the "Seeds of Faith" capital campaign project.
    To enter the church:
    Please use the Fairfield (Education Wing) entrance into the building Monday through Sunday. The Fairfield and Wayne Street entrances will be open on Sundays.
    To park when visiting Trinity:
    Those coming to Trinity should park in Trinity's Wayne and Fairfield lot. Spaces will be reserved in the front of the church for those who have mobility challenges. A Trinity parking sticker is needed to park in Trinity's parking lot during the week, but not on Sundays. Please get your sticker at the receptionist's desk (now located in the education office).
    If you have any concerns or need assistance to enter the building, please call the church before you leave home, and someone will be available to meet you and assist you.
